Revelation 3:14-23
(Revelation 3:14-23)
『 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans
write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the
beginning of the creation of God; I
know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or
hot. So then because thou
art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of
nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and
blind, and naked: I
counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and
white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness
do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and
chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and
knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and
will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit
with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father
in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the
churches. 』
The seven churches in the book of Revelation
typify the church today. Today, there is a church like the Laodicea Church.
Jesus rebuked the Church of Laodicea and said, "I know your deeds."
People in the church usually understand the ``action'' spoken by Jesus as ``no
faith, no zeal.'' They understand it as ``not coming to church, not working
hard after coming to church.'' However, the act of speaking here has to do with
something.
In John 6:27, ``Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that
meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto
you: for him hath God the Father sealed. In other words, this is related to the
food that allows for eternal life. It is God's work to be concerned with the
bread to be able to live forever, and to believe in the one whom God has sent.
In other words, everyone who sees and believes in the Son will receive eternal
life. When it comes to acquiring that eternal life, it is a saying that “it is neither hot nor hot”. Jesus said, “know thy works, that thou art
neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. ' My mouth is Jesus. The
Word of God comes out of Jesus' mouth, which means, "You are lukewarm, and
you are not mine."
You say, “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have
need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and
poor, and blind, and naked: 』. This is a lukewarm
state. To the church, “The rich are the saved”. He thinks he is saved, but Jesus says, "It is not so."
They are the poor, the poor, and the blind about the kingdom of God. Jesus
tells the Laodicea members, ``You say that you have been forgiven and saved
while attending church, but you have not been saved, so you are the poor, the
poor, and the poor in the kingdom of God. Jesus says I don't know you.”
They say that they believe in Jesus, but all those who believe according
to their thoughts, saying, "They are bound by the law, but the Holy Spirit
is good and the law is good." These are those who have never actually met
Jesus. It refers to a condition in which a towel is still hidden in front of
him because he is not awake to God's Word. In 2 Corinthians 3:14, “But their minds were blinded: for until
this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old
testament; which vail is done away in Christ. He said, ``They say they believe
in Jesus Christ, but the veil is covered, so they still keep the law.
『Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice,
and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with
me. 』Jesus is knocking outside the door of the church,
saying, "Jesus cannot enter because the door is not opened." It means
"I do not believe that I was forgiven and saved through Jesus
Greece." By the way, if you say, "Because of Jesus Christ, you were
forgiven and saved", you must become a person who has nothing to do with
the law. Jesus is above the law, and it is difficult if they say, "I
believe in Jesus," and they believe in the law under Jesus.
Jesus said, “I
counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and
white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness
do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 』 The people of the Laodicea church think, "All are saved",
but they said, "I (Jesus) bought the gold (the word of God) that I tried
with fire (the Holy Spirit)." It means to understand God's Word, which was
written in motion by the Holy Spirit. "Be rich" means that you are
rich in the kingdom of God.
It means that the Laodicea church is not rich, meaning that the Laodicea
church does not have the word of God. The white garment speaks of God's
righteousness. In order to buy white clothing, you must not rely on anything
else, but only go into Jesus Christ. In order to enter Christ, you must die on
the cross with Jesus. ``Being naked'' means ``not a righteous person, but a
sinner.'' The word ``buy and apply eye drops'' means that you hear the word of
God and understand, and you can see the kingdom of God. Open it.” That way, your eyes are opened,
meaning “Meet Jesus on the Cross”. To meet Jesus is to be united with Jesus on the Cross.
He said, “I will make him sit on my throne with him who overcomes.” Those who overcome must overcome like Jesus. Jesus overcame the
world by forsaking it. He overcame the world by dying. He overcame because he
died to the world, died to sin, and died to the law. It is explained in Romans
8:3-4, ``For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned
sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us,
who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 』We
cannot fulfill the law because the flesh is weak, but to those who do not
follow the flesh and follow the spirit, it means that God makes the law
fulfilled through Jesus Christ.
In Galatians
6:14 the apostle Paul said, ``But God forbid that I should glory, save in the
cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I
unto the world. 』. Those who are nailed are
old people. The old man who was not reborn by the Holy Spirit is the one under
the law. The old man must die with Jesus. If the old man died, the new man is
reborn as a spirit body by the power of the Holy Spirit. However, even though
he was born with a spirit body, he still has a body. So, the mind of the spirit
must control the body to fight evil (Satan). Those who overcome will be with
God on the throne.
