Revelation 13:1-18

(Revelation 13:1-18)

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?  And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.  If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.  And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.  And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.  And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.  And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.  And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:  And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

If a great dragon appears in chapter 12, then two beasts appear in chapter 13. There is a depiction of a beast coming out of the sea, and in a word, it can be said to be the great dragon, Satan's agent or servant. I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

This beast, receiving power, throne, and authority from the dragon, and persecuting the saints, symbolizes the power of the evil world that opposes God and deifies itself. The place where this beast came from is the sea, and in the Bible (Revelation) the sea is portrayed as the home of ever-changing kingdoms of the world, monsters such as dragons and Leviathan, and evil. So it is said that there is no sea in the new heaven and new earth in Chapter 21.

In Revelation 21:1, ``I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. The main thing this beast does is slander God and the saints, and persecute the saints by using evil powers. This beast is empowered by lies, and it is slanderous if it opens its mouth. He possesses strong power and captures him and kills him with a knife. All people in the world who are not saved will praise and worship this beast. However, the authority to enjoy even these threatening and powerful beasts is limited. He was given the authority to work for forty-two months.

Even if no one is able to fight with this, and has the mighty power to defame God, to fight against the saints, to take captive and kill, the time limit for the power of the beast is limited. The Bible mentions that the hostile activity of this beast will inevitably lead to captives and martyrs killed by swords. So, believers must have patience and faith. Those who will be taken captive will be taken captive, and those who will die by the sword ought to die by the sword. Here is the patience and faith of the saints.

I thought that the dragon was defeated in the battle of the heavens in Chapter 12, but it seems that the power has become stronger in Chapter 13. But it is not. The victory of chapter 12 is to continue with chapter 13 and chapter 14. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. . This passage shows that Chapter 13 connects the victory of Chapters 12 and 14.

All those of the earth worship the beast, but not those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Those who died with Jesus Christ in union with the cross of Jesus Christ are those whose names are written in the book of life and do not bow down to the beast. Even if he decides that he should not bow to the beast, all those who are not recorded in the book of life will bow to the beast.

I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. While the first beast appeared from the sea in the form of all sorts of beasts, the second beast looks like a lamb on earth. It is similar to a lamb, but has two horns and speaks like a dragon. The dragon is the one who lures the world and tries to deceive him with sweet words. He speaks of salvation, but in reality his words are the words of the devil. They perform great miracles, even causing fire to come down from heaven in front of people. Looks holy and godly like Jesus. He shakes his mind with the theory of sensation that comes into his ears. It shows amazing miracles.

By the way, the second beast, which looks like a sheep, does not serve God with its power, but deceives people to serve the first beast, makes its idol, and gives life to the idol, making it appear alive, and worshiping the idol. Kill those who don't listen. The second beast from this earth symbolizes false prophets and heresy, and shows that evil political power and corrupt religion will collide to deceive people and persecute the saints and the church. Jesus warned that the nearer the Lord's Second Coming, the greater the activity of these delusional false prophets. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:24)
