Revelation 22:1-21

(Revelation 22:1-21)

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. 10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.  For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

 

The last chapter of Revelation chapter 22 (verses 1 to 5) contains the holy city, the size and material of the city of Jerusalem with twelve gates, the reason for the absence of the temple, and the criteria for admission, the river of water and the tree of life, and It talks about the twelve fruits of the tree and the grace you will enjoy in the city of God.

 

The angel showed the apostle John the crystal clear river of water of life flowing through the holy city. The Bible says that the source of the river of water of life is the throne of God and the Lamb. That the throne of God and the Lamb of Jesus is the source of the river of the water of life is God, the source of life and the host of all things, including our human beings. 『In the midst f the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 』

 

The fact that the tree of life is on the left and right of the river of the water of life can be seen that the tree of life receives the water of life from God, the source of life, and produces fruit and leaves. The leaves are there to heal all nations, showing that God, the source of life, is the healer of all nations.

 

There is no more curse in the holy city, the city of God. Those who enter the city have the name of God on their foreheads and see the face of God. No one has ever seen God's face properly in human history. The place of glory to see its face is the Holy City, the City of God. The character of God's castle is nightless. No night means there is always light. The light is not a lamp and sunlight. In the city of God, it is said that the lanterns and sunlight are useless. This is because God Himself shines.

 

God is the source of life and the source of light. It is said that it is glorious to be in a place like this, but it is said to be king there. 『Only those who were recorded in the Lamb's Lifebook』. Those who died with Jesus Christ who died on the cross repenting of leaving God will be recorded in the Lamb's book of life.

 

22:6 to the last verse is the closing words of the Revelation. Say in verse 6, "This word is faithful and true." The words of the angel to the apostle John are the words of God because they are spoken as God's prophets. Therefore, there is no lie and it is true. 『Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. 』 The Lord will come quickly, and he says that blessed will be those who keep the words of prophecy. Since those who keep the words of prophecy can be blessed, the words of prophecy must be read and preached.

 

Therefore, the words of prophecy should not be sealed. “Do not seal the words of this prophecy,” the angel commanded the apostle John. Then, when all the words of prophecy, including the judgment and destruction of evil, and the new heavens and the new earth and the holy city, have been read to the people without being sealed, people must fear God. Because God is the God of justice.

 

Considering what the Lord said in common in the seven churches in Asia Minor, "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Holy Spirit says to the churches."When those who have spiritual ears open, and even those who have spiritual eyes open, hear and read the words of prophecy, they come to the path of righteousness and holiness with a sense of alertness. The unrighteous cannot enter the city of God, the holy city. 『For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 』

 

God grants grace to those who repent, but does not wait forever for those who do not repent. The end times will surely come. Judgment Day is known only to Heavenly Father, but it will eventually come. Then God will judge each person as he has done.

 

“I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, and the beginning and the end.” Since the day of Jesus Christ's return on earth is imminent, we must listen to the words of prophecy and repent and take the right way. There are several verses telling of the impending coming of Jesus. The words, "I will come soon," and "The time is near" are the words that the Lord is coming again. Those who live with the imminence of the Lord's coming back in mind are always awake. Therefore, like the one who wears a scroll, it must be sanctified in union with Jesus Christ on the cross. Jesus is telling the way of salvation until he testifies by sending a messenger for the church that is in one body with Him. Salvation is a free gift to the repentant. Repentance is the one who dies on the cross with Jesus.

 

The Lord says, "Whoever wants, receive the water of life free of charge." Whoever wants is who wants to repent. So, those who repent can receive the water of life free of charge. The water of life is not by acts or efforts, but because he acknowledges that he is a sinner who has left God and turns away from sin, dies on the cross with Jesus, receives Jesus as Savior, and Jesus himself pays the price for that sin. You will receive the water of life. The words of the Lord's revelation given through the apostle John should not be added or deleted. Just as the word of God should not be distorted by one point or another, the life of the believer of the saints must live in harmony with God, the standard of life. When you live like that, you will confess, "Come, Lord Jesus, Amen."
